Happy Ninjas rumble around in the underground scene

After the hacks against carders.cc, Freehack and a couple of security related websites during the Christmas time, there were more hacks against underground boards in late January. This time Swissfaking and V*****24 were hacked and all their log files where published. V*****24 is/was a side project of carders.cc. It seems as if the hackers got root access to the root server, activated the log files and harvested all information some time after to release it.

All mentioned attacks have one thing in common: they were all executed by a hacker crew called The Happy Ninjas.  It was the Happy Ninjas’ second action against the carders.cc group. The hackers call themselves some kind of scene police, which is coming for the “bad guys”. Here is a quote from their first strike against carders.cc from late 2010:

On Tuesday, another German-speaking board (see screenshot below) announced that the users are urged to change their log-in credentials. This suggests that their database also got compromised. But the board released a message on Wednesday, which says that there has not been a hack - they have only update the software and this would be the only reason why the board was offline.

So, it looks as if the air is getting thinner for many of those underground boards and as if their enemy is coming from the underground’s inside.

But, besides the takedown of the boards and unavailability for the users, the Happy Ninjas’ actions are causing another problem for the underground members: A database published online means that the data is available for the police, too…

To close this with the Ninjas' words:
